  Editor's Note

A new year and a new beginning! PICMET’s activities are expanding beyond the biennial conference, and one aspect of the expansion is the Technology Management Newsletter (TMN). The objective of the newsletter is to develop and promote the field of Technology Management by providing a platform for reporting and exchanging ideas, research findings, best practices in industry, and trends. TMN is going to publish quarterly, but we will update the industry news monthly.

I am honored to be the editor of this newsletter. This will be a new experience for all of us and hopefully a successful one. We guarantee that TMN will not be dry or boring in content or in presentation. We have an extremely dedicated and enthusiastic team: Ann White  is our managing editor and Guillermo Rueda is the associate editor.  We are starting this year with a great issue containing news and issues related to Technology Management. Prof. Charles Weber, Peerasit Patanakul and Prof. Dragan Milosevic contributed  to  this issue with their articles.

We will have a global approach in the TMN as we do in other PICMET activities. PICMET has 53 country representatives from 40+ countries who will contribute to future issues of the TMN. Our feature articles and columns will be written for you (and in some cases by you). Please send us information, news, research findings or your ideas related to Technology Management in your country or region and help us to share and create more knowledge for our global community.

Reader feedback is important to us. Tell us what you want more of (or less of).  We will appreciate any feedback you have, and please feel free to contact myself or Ann White (ann@etm.pdx.edu) with ideas or comments.

A happy, healthy, and prosperous 2004 to all of you!
